The Supreme Court of the United States today declined to hear multiple cases seeking certiorari related to the issue of Same Sex Marriage.
Wisconsin, the state where I grew up, is front and center in the decision, as are Indiana (where I clerked on the Supreme Court of Indiana), Oklahoma and Utah. The fifth state whose appeal will not be heard is Virginia – where many of our attorneys practice.
The Commonwealth of Virginia immediately (right now!) begins recognizing marriages performed in other jurisdictions, and will move forward with allowing same-sex marriage promptly.
Kuder, Smollar, Friedman & Mihalik, P.C., is excited to welcome marriage equality to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
