On Monday, our firm welcomed a new intern to our office – Julianne Edwards-Ransom. Ms. Edwards-Ransom graduated from the George Washington University Law School this May and soon will be sworn in to the Maryland Bar. During law school, Ms. Edwards-Ransom gained experience representing children, particularly in the area of education, through internships with the Public Defender Service of DC and the Children’s Law Center. Ms. Edwards-Ransom is a native of New Paltz, New York, and did her undergraduate work at Muhlenberg College where she earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in History/Government. After college, Ms. Edwards-Ransom participated in City Year, an Americorps program that brings young people from all walks of life together for full-time community service. It was during her two years of City Year, working in elementary schools, that she developed an interest in working with children and families in the legal system. Ms. Edwards-Ransom is excited to join Kuder, Smollar, & Friedman, PC, and as part of her time here, will be contributing to this blog regularly. Look forward to her posts, which will provide interesting insight into family law topics from the point of view of a new practitioner.
